Vice-Secretary of CPC CPU Committee and Secretary of its Discipline Inspection Commission

FU Hengsheng, born in 1961, graduated from Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) with his Bachelor's Degree in Material Science in January 1982 and his Master's Degree in Material Science in 1985, and from China University of Mining & Technology (Beijing) with his Ph.D Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1988.

From 1989 to 2015, he held successively such different positions in the Department of Science & Technology of the Ministry of Education of China as deputy director, director and consultant as well as Deputy Secretary-General of Science and Technology Commission of the Ministry of Education. During the period, he also served in the temporary position as Deputy Director of Science & Technology Commission of Wanxian County (currently named Shunping County), Hebei Province from September 1992 to August 1993.

From May 1999 to May 2001, he served as First Secretary in the Education Section, Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK). From February 2010 to September 2014, he served as Consul (Head of Education) and Member of CPC Party Committee in the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Manchester, UK. Since June 2015, he has been serving as Vice-Secretary of CPC China Pharmaceutical University Committee and Secretary of its Discipline Inspection Commission.

His research awards include: First Prize of Beijing Institute of Technology Science and Technology Progress Award 1995 (second); Third Prize of the State Commission of Education Science and Technology Progress Award 1991 (third) due to the project of Research on Erosion Mechanism; Third Prize of the State Commission of Education Science and Technology Progress Award 1996 (seventh) due to the project of Research on the Development Plan for the Basic Research in Higher Educational Institutions in China during the Eighth Five-Year Plan Period.
