Investigator Biography

Shen Weiyang’s early academic training was in chemical sciences with a bachelor of chemistry from Yangzhou Teacher's College and a master of analytical chemistry from East China Normal University. In 1994, he worked in China Pharmaceutical University as a lecturer. Over 20 years’ teaching experience enriched him with numerous honors. He won several times the first price in lecture contests. In 2004, he was awarded for the work on the teaching and research as Outstanding backbone teacher sponsored by the Education Department of Jiangsu province. The next year, he was selected as an invited researcher to study on Methodology and Guidelines for the fingerprint chromatogram of the herbal medicines in Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. In 2015, he went to Singapore for a short-term training in Nanyang Technological University.

Capitalizing on his familiarity with Chemistry and analytical technology, he embarked on a quest to research on drug quality control and modern instrumental analysis after the completion of his PhD in 2005. At present, his main research field is focused on separation technology, quality control, biological equivalence and compatibility of drugs. Over 30 projects on drug quality standard are undertaken by his team, and no less than 60 articles have been published at home and abroad.
