Research Summary

Professor XIANG’s research mainly focuses on the anticancer drug discovery targeting steroidal hormone receptors or enzymes. She is also engaged in designing and synthesizing innovative agents for senile diseases (menopausal osteoporosis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, hyperlipidaemia, Alzheimer's disease,etc.). Besides, she is interested in the synthesis of clinical available steroidal drugs by using new steroidal sapogenins from naturally occurring plants as starting material, in parallel with studies on utilizing regio- and stereo-specifically methodologies.
