Research Summary

Associate Professor WU’s research focuses on the elucidation of the transport mechanisms of drugs across the plasma membrane as well as the development and application of improved methodology (chemical, mathematical, and instrumental) for pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis. Drug transporters play a part in vivo in the disposition, therapeutic efficacy and adverse reactions of many drugs. It is quite important, in both academia and the pharmaceutical industry, to figure out which transporters are clinically important in the absorption and disposition of drugs and evaluate the potential pharmacokinetic drug-drug interactions.
