Research Summary

Professor LI’s research focused on (1) discovery of bioactive components from Chinese herbal medicines (CHMs), (2) standardization and quality control of CHMs, (3) innovative drug development. To make TCMs more acceptable around the world, Prof. Li has advanced many aspects of TCMs research using multidisciplinary methods. Such useful techniques for solving the complexity of TCMs include LC-QTOF MS-based online structural characterization technique for nontarget compounds in herbal samples, dynamic microdialysis sampling with TFC-MS for metabolic pathways prediction, fishing and knockout strategy for dicovery of bioactive equivalence of combinatorial components, and HPLC and hyphenated techniques for improved quality control of TCMs.
