Research Summary

Professor LUO’s research focuses on target and effective discovery of components with novel frameworksand significant bioactivities from traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) and folk medicines, especially the limonoids from Meliaceae and hybrids of phloroglucinol and Terpenes from Clusiaceae and Myrtaceae. Up to now, more than 200 new compounds belong to limonoids, Polycyclic Polyprenylated Acylphloroglucinols and adducts of terpenes have been discovered, and three kinds of unprecedented skeletons were selected as "Hot off the Press" in Nat. Prod. Rep. About 50 compounds exhibited significant antitumor, antiinflammatory, neuroprotection activities, which provided excellent lead compounds for R&D of new chemical substance drugs.
