Research Summary

Doctor Yang’s research focuses on discovering novel inhibitors from traditional medicinal herbs that may restore the sensitivity of MDR cancer cells to chemotherapeutic drugs. Multidrug resistance (MDR) is a serious obstacle encountered in cancer treatment. MDR cancer cells expelling drugs from inside inevitably lowers the chemotherapeutic drugs effect and cancer cells soon develop resistance to a variety of drugs.The results of this research will afford some useful reversal agents, giving a glimpse of the therapeutic value of TCM in this regards.
