Research Summary

Professor Chen’s research focuses on multi-functional nano-conjugates for tumor diagnosis, targeting therapy and combined therapy. She recently published a paper in Biomaterials entitled "Dual targeting luminescent gold nanoclusters for tumor imaging and deep tissue therapy" . In this research, a novel nano-platformwith dual targeting function was initiallyestablished by conjugating gold nanoclusterwith cyclic RGD that isspecific to αvβ3integrins and aptamer that is of high affinity to nucleolin. The enhanced tumor affinity, deep tumor penetration andimproved anti-tumor activity of this pro-drug were demonstrated in different tumorcell lines, tumor spheroid and tumor-bearing mouse models, which confirm the promising future of this nano-conjugates in the field of cancer therapy.
