Research Summary

Professor MO's research focuses on exploiting new strategies for precise drug delivery using stimuli-responsive systems in an on-demand manner for treatment of human diseases, including cancer and diabetes. These "smart" systems are integrated with the responsive modules that can be regulated by the disease-associated signals, such as acidity, enzymes, redox potential, reactive oxygen species, ATP and glucose, which can efficiently overcomemultiple physiological barriers and specifically deliver drugs to their targets for enhanced therapeutic efficacy and reduced toxicity.
