Research:

Discovery and development of antiviral and host innate immunity modulating agents for treatment of viral infection such as HBV, HCV or influenza virus. We have developed several of cell-based or enzyme-based antiviral assays suitable for high throughput screening of antiviral agents to treat HBV, HCV or Influenza virus. My project focuses on discovering small molecular inhibitors of HBV, HCV or influenza virus.

Discovery and development of new autophagy inducers for treatment of cancer. Autophagy plays a crucial role in human physiology and defense against human diseases such as microbe infections, cancer, ageing, immunity, and neurodegenerative disorders. We have established some of high throughput screening models to discovery new autophagy inducers. One novel class of autophagy inducers with anticancer activity has been discovered and is currently under preclinical development.
