Dr. Huang holds a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from China Pharmaceutical University (CPU). From 2009 to 2012, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow supervised by Prof. Edward E. Knaus at the University of Alberta in Canada. He joined the CPU in 2013. He is now a professor of medicinal chemistry of CPU. Dr. Huang and his research group have made significant advancements in the field of nitric oxide-related drugs. His research interests involve medicinal chemistry of gases, with focus on nitric oxide-donating drugs as well as protein SNO-based target identification and drug research. Significant advancements have been achieved by him in the field of drug research and development for ischemic stroke. Two novel drug candidates, AAPB and WXTA, have been successfully developed as a result of his work. AAPB has received approval for clinical trials and is presently undergoing clinical investigation.
