Mr. Ren has been teaching English academic writing in recent years, an experience that has sparked and continues to fuel his interest in analyzing the features of various types of academic discourse, including research articles and multi-modal texts. His completed projects primarily consist of corpus-based and corpus-driven empirical studies of English academic writing, which seek to provide insights into the linguistic characteristics of scholarly communication. Currently, he is exploring the application of classical machine learning algorithms to analyze different text types, with the aim of uncovering hidden patterns of language use. Through this approach, he hopes to contribute to a deeper understanding of the complexities of academic discourse and enhance the tools available for linguistic analysis. Ren, J. (2022).
