  • Dr. Wei is a professor at China Pharmaceutical University, renowned for his expertise in drug target identification and the early detection of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in cancer research. He completed his postdoctoral studies in genetics and genomics at Vanderbilt University, where he specialized in developing statistical methods for human genetics, particularly in genome-wide association studies (GWAS), intratumor heterogeneity (ITH), and drug repurposing. Dr. Wei's dedication to integrating pharmacology and genomics has significantly advanced our understanding of personalized medicine, contributing to the development of more targeted therapeutic strategies in oncology and beyond.

  • Study focuses on two primary areas:

Drug target identification: Identifying potential pathogenic genes based on genetic information (GWAS loci) and constructing disease-specific whole-genome interaction networks. Candidate drugs are screened using expression profile data.

Early Detection of Tumor ctDNA: Employing Bayesian models and Hidden Markov Models, integrating multi-omics data from tumors to detect early-stage cancer patients.
