Research Summary

Professor WANG’s research focuses on development of algorithms for analysis of genomics data including next-generation sequencing, microarray data etc., discovery of drug targets for cancer therapy by the bioinformatics approach, systems and computational biology for elucidating the nature of oncogenesis, and inference of molecular interaction networks relevant to specific disease. Particularly, he is interested in first predicting potential biomarkers for cancer diagnosis and treatment by integrating different types of "omics" data using the bioinformatics approach, and then performing experiments to screen valuable biomarkers for clinical application.
