Mr. Lai Maode (1960-), a native of Xiaoshan, Zhejiang Province, is an expert in pathology and an academician of the German Academy of Sciences.He graduated from the Department of Medicine of Zhejiang Medical University in 1982, and was awarded the Master's Degree of Medicine of Zhejiang Medical University in 1987, and the Doctor's Degree of Medicine of the Medical University of Lübeck in 1990.He has been a member of the teaching staff of the Department of Pathology of Zhejiang Medical University since 1983, and was promoted to Professor in 1994, and was approved as a doctoral supervisor in 1995. He was elected as an academician of the German Academy of Sciences in 2011, and was honored as a special expert of Zhejiang Province in 2011, and has been the vice president of Zhejiang Medical University since 1996, and the vice president of Zhejiang University since 1998, and has been the president of China Pharmaceutical University since 2013. He has served as vice president of the Pathologists Branch of the Chinese Physicians Association, vice president of the National Society of Teaching Research in Higher Education, and vice chairman of the National (Ministry of Education) Steering Committee for Basic Medical Education.
He is mainly engaged in the research of colorectal cancer pathology.
