Wang Guangji (1953.4.26-) is an expert in pharmacokinetics and an academician of the Academy of Engineering. He graduated from the School of Pharmacy of China Pharmaceutical University in 1977 and received his PhD degree from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 1995. He was the vice president of China Pharmaceutical University. He is now the director of the Key Laboratory of Pharmacokinetics in Jiangsu Province, and also the chairman of the Applied Pharmacology Committee of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Society, and the chairman of the Pharmaceutical Industry Committee of the Chinese Society of Pharmacology. He is the national leader of “863” major project “Research on key technologies and platforms of preclinical pharmacokinetics”, and the leader of the doctoral degree authorization point of pharmacokinetics under the Ministry of Education.
He was the first to establish an internationally advanced preclinical pharmacokinetic technology platform, which has become an important support system for China's innovative drug research and development, and promoted the research and development and industrialization of China's innovative drugs. He has created a new theory and model of “target cell pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic combination study”, which provides a new method for the evaluation and screening of target intracellular drugs and nanoformulations. We have pioneered the theory and methodology of multi-component pharmacokinetic study of traditional Chinese medicine, solved many key technical problems, and promoted the research and development of new Chinese medicine, upgrading and internationalization of large varieties of traditional Chinese medicine. He has published 254 SCI papers with 2,339 SCI citations, and has been authorized 21 invention patents. He has been awarded two second-class prizes for national scientific and technological progress, three first-class prizes for ministerial and provincial scientific and technological progress, and the 2012 He Liang He Li Foundation Award for Scientific and Technological Progress.
