On March 24, Prof. Xie Wen, Director of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the School of Pharmacy of the University of Pittsburgh, visited our university, and President Hao Haiping received the guests.
At the symposium, Hao Haiping welcomed Prof. Xie Wen's visit and introduced our university's achievements in talent cultivation. He emphasized that the university attaches great importance to international exchanges and is committed to cultivating high-quality talents with a global vision. He also hopes to carry out multi-level academic cooperation and personnel exchanges with the University of Pittsburgh. Subsequently, the two sides had an in-depth discussion on the undergraduate internship program, undergraduate and master's degree programs, and cooperative school running, and reached a preliminary intention of cooperation.
During the visit, the University of Pittsburgh held a seminar on the University of Pittsburgh at Jiangning Campus, where Wen Xie gave a lecture on the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy Master's Degree Program and the Undergraduate Summer Internship Program, which attracted more than 40 students to listen to the lecture and make inquiries. On March 25, Wen Xie gave a lecture on “Cellular Mechanisms and Metabolic Basis of Metabolism of the Metabolism Enzyme CYP1B1 in Regulating Hepatostatic Stellate Cell Activation and Hepatopancreatic Fibrosis” at the New Laboratory Building, in which he introduced in detail the new breakthroughs made by his group in the field of hepatic stellate cell specific CYP1B1 regulation of hepatic fibrosis progression, and shared the experience of targeted intervention of hepatic stellate cells and liver fibrosis related research. Teachers and students exchanged ideas and interacted with Xie Wen in a warm atmosphere.
