The Experiment Building of Jiangning Campus College is located in the northwest of Jiangning Campus of our university, east of Ming Lake, and north of the west area of the Medicinal Botanical Garden. The program of the building is designed by Henningson Durham & Richardson International Inc., and the construction plan design is completed by Nanjing University Architectural Design and Research Institute. The building has a floor area of 36,991 square meters, five floors above ground and one floor below ground. The building facade consists of ceramic panels and glass curtain walls, with the ceramic panels representing tradition and the glass curtain walls representing science and technology, the whole of which symbolizes the combination of tradition and science and technology, and it provides a spacious, bright and open scientific research place for the colleges and the key laboratories of the country.
The design of the building is based on an innovative idea of simplicity, flexibility, and modularity, with a lake-facing periphery for researchers' offices and a regularly shaped interior for experimental spaces. The building connects the public space and experimental facilities with the individuals inside and strives for faculty, students, and guests to enjoy a new experience the moment they enter the building. It is hoped that this unique exterior design and advanced and practical building entity will attract more excellent researchers from home and abroad to the University of Pharmacy!
