Academician Yu Di from the Australian Academy of Medical Sciences Visits the School of Pharmacy

Prof. Yu Di, the first director of Ian Frazer Centre for Childhood Immunotherapy Research at the University of Queensland, Australia, and a member of the Australian Academy of Medical Sciences, was invited to visit the School of Pharmacy on June 13. Prof. Liu Dongfei, vice dean of the School; Prof. Dong Deli, head of the Department of Pharmacology, and over 60 representatives attended the event hosted by Prof. Liu.

At the beginning of the event, Prof. Liu Dongfei warmly welcomed Prof. Yu Di on behalf of the School. Afterwards, Prof. Yu Di delivered a lecture entitled “Targeting T cells in Human Diseases: Principles and Practice”, which addressed T cell differentiation and function, immunotherapeutic targets, and drug optimization strategies. Students and faculty members also actively discussed with Prof. Yu on T cell classification, target validation, large molecule drug dosage exploration and optimization, as well as the future potentials of immunotherapy.

After the meeting, Prof. Yu Di also visited our new laboratory building and the pharmacology platform to explore the future cooperation in drug optimization & evaluation, nucleic acid immunity, microsphere characterization & optimization, and macromolecular pharmacokinetics.

In the first half of this year, the School of Pharmacy has organized 20 diverse and content-rich academic exchange activities. This lecture is part of the Pharmaceutical Frontier Lecture Series, designed to broaden the academic perspectives of faculty and students, foster in-depth exchange, and invigorate the School's research advancements.
