Recently, the 5th Jiangsu Province College Students' Biomedical Engineering Innovation Design Competition, hosted by the Jiangsu Biomedical Engineering Society and co-organized by Nanjing Medical University, Changzhou West Taihu Science and Technology Industrial Park Management Committee, was held in Changzhou. The project Circular RNA Vaccine Against Helicobacter pylori Infection, completed by graduate students Huang Kunhua, Leng Ning, and Zhang Pinzheng under the guidance of Associate Professor Xing Yingying, won the Grand Prize.
It is reported that this competition attracted 270 teams from 20 universities across the province to register. After the competition, 62 teams successfully advanced to the finals. The entries covered various fields such as popular science works, biomedical materials, biomedical sensors and in vitro diagnostics, artificial intelligence and biomedical big data, biomedical electronics and rehabilitation, etc. The works demonstrated the students' professional skills and also reflected their deep understanding and innovative thinking in solving real medical problems.
Our school attaches great importance to the innovation and entrepreneurship of college students, widely soliciting projects from the whole college and actively organizing teachers and students to participate in the competition. The achievement of this excellent result reflects the spirit of the teachers and students who are diligent in research and brave in innovation, and also shows the educational achievements and innovative strength of our school in the field of biomedical engineering and related fields, effectively promoting the cultivation of innovative talents in the integration of medicine and engineering, highlighting the advantages and characteristics of the construction of the discipline and specialty.
