Recently, our university successfully concluded the 2025 “Jinxiu Jiangsu” International Summer School. This year's summer school, themed “The Fragrance of Traditional Chinese Medicine: A Legacy of Elegance,” attracted nearly 80 young students from 26 countries worldwide to our campus, embarking on an enriching journey that blended traditional Chinese medicine culture with academic exploration.
On July 7, the opening ceremony of the summer school was held in Room 111 of the Business, Management, and Humanities Building at the Jiangning Campus. Yao Hequan, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the university, extended a warm welcome to the young scholars who had traveled from afar. In his address, he noted that the university, leveraging its distinctive educational characteristics, aims to provide global young scholars with a high-level academic exchange platform and valuable cultural exchange opportunities through the “Jinxiu Jiangsu” International Summer School. This initiative seeks to help them gain a deeper understanding of China's rich history and vibrant culture, particularly the unique charm of traditional Chinese medicine. Ms. Yu Juan, Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs at Saint Joseph's University in the United States, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech, expressing strong support for the program and sincere expectations for the participants. Representatives from Chinese and international students shared their excitement about participating in the program and their eager anticipation for the learning journey during their speeches at the ceremony.
Over the two-week program, our university carefully organized a variety of rich and diverse courses and practical activities, including cutting-edge academic lectures, immersive TCM experiences and training, as well as field trips to renowned pharmaceutical companies, medical institutions, and cultural landmarks. International students deepened their understanding of the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine through courses and practical activities; found common ground between different cultures through collaborative exchanges; and gained profound academic insights through experiential exploration.
This “Jinxiu Jiangsu” International Summer School further deepened its brand characteristics by offering a series of carefully designed academic and cultural experience activities, aiming to enable international students to deeply perceive the mysteries of traditional Chinese medicine and the profound heritage of Chinese traditional culture. The activities built a bridge for cultural exchange and academic mutual learning among young people from various countries, contributing positively to deepening global pharmaceutical education cooperation and promoting the prosperous development of cultural exchange between China and foreign countries.
