From November 6 to 10, at the invitation of the American partner institutions, a delegation of our university went to the United States to visit and communicate. During the trip, the delegation visited the University of Illinois at Chicago, the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, and the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. Li Zhiyu, Executive Vice President of the Institute of Science and Technology, Sun Agile, Director of Academic Affairs, Wang Xinran, Executive Vice President of the School of Modern Pharmaceutical Industry, and Tang Weifang, Dean of the School of Science, participated in the visit. The visit mainly centered on the joint training of high-level talents, the exchange of Chinese and foreign teachers, and scientific research cooperation.
During the visit to the University of Illinois at Chicago, our delegation had an in-depth understanding of the university's college settings, teaching philosophy, advantageous specialties, facilities, and equipment, and fully explored cooperation. During the visit, the two sides reached an agreement on joint training programs for students in the field of clinical pharmacy and international teacher training and planned to sign a framework cooperation agreement.
During the visit to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Campus, the University of Minnesota expressed its willingness to continue bilateral academic conferences, and undergraduate internship programs, establish new short-term student exchange programs, undergraduate master's degree programs, master's degree programs, and expand cooperation to biomedical engineering, biostatistics, and biomedical big data.
During the visit to the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, the two sides held in-depth discussions on the development of customized summer student exchange programs and the improvement of the existing undergraduate dual-degree programs. The University of Michigan Ann Arbor expressed its willingness to utilize the existing cross-disciplinary teaching model to support the reform of related courses. During the visit, the delegation also visited the University of Michigan Hospital and Pharmacy and met with our alumni and students studying at the University of Michigan.
This visit not only consolidated the deep friendship and cooperative relationship between the university and its key partner institutions in the United States, but also injected new vitality into the future development of cooperation.
