Biography
Dr. Shilong Fan received his PhD degree from the University of Science and Technology of China in October 2008, specializing in macromolecular structural biology. From October 2008 to February 2012, Dr. Fan worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Cancer, University of Cambridge, UK, focusing on structural biology-based drug screening and optimization, and then returned to Tsinghua University in 2012, where he is now a Senior Engineer at the School of Life Sciences of Tsinghua University, and the Director of X-ray Crystallography Platform of National Protein Infrastructure Tsinghua Site, and Director of the Office of the Tsinghua Life Sciences Platform. He is now a senior engineer in the School of Life Sciences, Tsinghua University. His main work includes providing macromolecular crystallography equipment and technical services for structural biology research at Tsinghua University, as well as providing protein crystallography equipment and technical support for life science research in China based on the high-end equipment and technology advantages of the National Protein Infrastructure. So far, more than 100 papers have been published in Cell, Nature and Science based on the X-ray crystallography platform, and Dr. Fan has been directly involved in the publication of more than 20 of them.
