Reporter introduction:
Prof. Charles Bangham has long been engaged in basic research on retroviruses, including HIV-1 and HTLV-1, and was the first to discover the existence of virological synapse in the world, with his results published in Science, Immunity, Nature Microbiology, PNAS, Blood and other journals, Prof. Bangham is a Fellow of the Royal Society and a Fellow of the British Academy of Medical Sciences and is currently Head of the Department of Immunology and Director of the Institute of Infection Research at Imperial College London.
