Lifelong Professor, Department of Molecular Physiology, Medical Faculty of Saarland University, Member of Academia Europaea, President of the German Society for Neuroscience, Member of the German Council for Brain Science, Member of the Pan-European Committee of IBRO-PERC, Director of the Institute for Gender Biology and Medicine (CGBM), Saarland University, Honorary Professor of Soochow University, Honorary Professor of the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Founder of the CGBM Institute of Soochow University, Founder of the CGBM Institute of the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Chengdu, and Honorary Professor of the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Chengdu.
Prof. Frank Kirchhoff has been working on the connection between glial cells and neurons for many years. He has been the chief scientist of several major EU projects and priority programs of the German Funding Council, etc. He has published more than one hundred articles in top journals in the field of neuroscience, such as Science, Neuron, NatureNeuroscience, etc., with an H -index 57.
