The 5th “International Culture Exchange Week” of China Pharmaceutical University Successfully Held

Recently, the 5th International Culture Week of China Pharmaceutical University, hosted by the School of International Education, was successfully held in Jiangning Campus, China Pharmaceutical University.

At the opening ceremony, Vice President Kong Lingyi pointed out that CPU attaches great importance to international exchange and cooperation, and dedicates to establish a platform for both Chinese and foreign students as well as teachers to communicate with each other through the International Culture Exchange Week, promote the excellent Chinese traditional culture and its "going out", broaden the horizon of our students and teachers, bring Chinese culture to the world, and tell the Chinese story well. Meanwhile, we should give full play to the role of internal force of culture, educate and civilize people through culture, stimulate the understanding and recognition of the internationalization strategy of CPU, to build a "diversified, elegant and modern" campus culture, and form an internationalized culture with the characteristics of the China Pharmaceutical University.

During the Culture Exchange Week, the School of International Education arranged a series of activities for teachers and students, namely the "exchange activities between Chinese and foreign students", which allowed Chinese and foreign students to experience the cultural and artistic exchanges and brought them closer to each other, the calligraphy competition which impregnated the fragrance of ink in everyone's heart, the creative mask design competition which gave students an opportunity to show their "brilliant ideas". At the same time, lectures given by Professor Xiao Xiqiang from Nanjing Normal University and Professor Kang Shanshan from the School of International Medicine and Business deepened the understanding of international education. What’s more, the Chinese speech contest for international students demonstrated the solid Chinese language skills of international students and further stimulated their enthusiasm for learning Chinese.

The School of International Education overcame the unfavorable factors of the epidemic, managed to restart the "Culture Festival" and upgrade it to "Culture Exchange Week" for the first time, providing a good communication platform for Chinese and foreign students as well as teachers, exhibiting the integration of culture, art and academics in all aspects. Through a series of cultural exchange activities, the friendship between Chinese and foreign students and faculty is further enhanced, and the spirit of "Chinese culture" and "CPU Culture" is promoted.
