Yao Hequan, male, Han ethnicity, born in April 1977, is a member of the Communist Party of China. He obtained postgraduate degree and the Ph.D degree of Science. Now he is a professor and doctoral supervisor.

He has served as Director of Science and Technology Department, Dean of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of China Pharmaceutical University, and in September 2023, he was appointed as Standing Committee of Party Committee and Vice President of China Pharmaceutical University.

His research interests include new technology of drug synthesis and medicinal chemistry. He has been selected for the New Century Outstanding Talents Support Program of the Ministry of Education and Literacy, Jiangsu Province 333 High-level Talents Cultivation Project (Third Level). He is also the leader of the excellent scientific and technological innovation team in Jiangsu Province. He has presided over more than 10 national, provincial and ministerial research projects, such as the National Science and Technology Special Project of Creation of Major New Drugs, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Huoyingdong Fund for Fundamental Research of the Ministry of Education of China. Currently, he is also the deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Discovery and Optimization of Natural Active Molecules in Jiangsu Province, the executive director of the Committee of Biomedical Innovation and Industrialization of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Society, and the director of the Chemical Drugs Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Pharmaceutical Research and Development Association.
